Testdriving Dacia

Only one week after its official presentation at the World Trade Plaza in Bucharest, the new commercial vehicle from Dacia, namely the Logan VAN, started its “maiden voyage” on the Romanian roads.

Throughout January 29 – 31, 2007, some 34 journalists were given the opportunity of testing the Logan VAN model on the route Bucharest – Pitesti – Bucharest. The operation itself consisted of two stages. The first stage was dedicated to the specialized media from Romania (comprising a total of 24 journalists), while the second stage was destined to the representatives of the ten leading auto publications in Bulgaria. Some 12 vehicles equipped with 1.5DCI and 1.6MPI engines were made available to journalists.
In order to allow for the best possible evaluation of their roadside behavior in various usage conditions, half of the vehicles were loaded with a 250 kilogram charge.
Each test session was accompanied by a press conference, with the participation of François Fourmont, Dacia General Manager and George Vilcereanu, Dacia Logan VAN Product Manager.
During the press conferences, both the Romanian and the Bulgarian journalists voiced their satisfaction with the new Logan VAN model, which is considered to be an ideal transport solution for a wide range of users.

The "Transadventure" of the Logan MCV - October 10-15, 2006: Test Drive 1.6 16V 105 HP and 1.5 dCi 70 HP.

Total VAN, the new commercial vehicle from Dacia put to the test: January 29–31, 2007

The Logan MCV station wagon came out for the first time on Romanian roads, in Transylvania, throughout October 10 – 15, 2006. Some 22 Logan MCV vehicles, both gasoline and diesel versions, were tested by more than 70 journalists.

Behind the wheel of the 105 HP 16V and 70 HP 1.5dci versions, journalists from Romania and Bulgaria testes the qualities of the new station wagon: dynamism, space and polyvalence at best price. The picturesque landscape of the Transylvanian hills highlighted the robustness, the simplicity and the modernity of this vehicle. The Logan MCV drive test covered a specially-chosen route between Cluj and Sighisoara, with a short stop in Targu Mures, encompassing 350 km in two days.

The journalists` impressions were debated in detail during the press conferences organized for each of the three press groups. These conferences were hosted by Dacia representatives: François Fourmont, General Manager, Jacques Daniel, Commercial Manager Romania, Jacques Abot, Network Commercial Manager Romania, Stéphane Gigou, Marketing Product Manager Logan MCV Renault, Martin Boutard, Marketing Product Manager Logan MCV, Product Department Groupe Renault, George Vilcereanu, Product Manager Logan MCV Romania.

Briefing sessions ended with an underground theater play, “Sunshine Play”, directed by Ana Margineanu, written by Peca Stefan.

Test Drive of the Diesel Logan - September 21-30, 2005

During September 21st - 30, Dacia organised 1.5 dCi 65 hp for national and international press journalists.
66 reporters coming from five countries (44 from Romania and 22 from Serbia-Montenegro, Macedonia and Turkey) rode for 750 km - a long journey that emphasised the Logan`s strong points: an easy car to drive, responsive and agile. The week points lay in the gearbox, the maximum ratio, the stability and the noise level.

Each test lasted for two days, and went from Bucharest - Slobozia - Tandarei - Harsova - Topolog - Tulcea and Somova, on the first day; from Somova - Tulcea - Mihail Kogalniceanu - Babadag - Enisala - Mihai Viteazul - Sacele - Navodari - Mamaia - Medgidia - Cernavoda - Fetesti - Slobozia and Bucharest, on the second day. The tour covered various types of roads: highway, national and county roads, as well as dirt tracks.

The diesel Logan behaved perfectly. The car condition was good, there were no accidents and no technical problems.
Press conferences were held between the two legs of the journey, in Somova, "Delta Nature Resort".
François Fourmont (General Manager), Joël Hanen (Executive Manager for Engineering), Jean-Michel Sicre (Manager of International Commercial Operations), Jacques Abot (Executive Manager of Commercial Operations - Romania), Richard Agius (Executive Manager of Mechanical Works) and Cristina Man (Manager for Export) provided the journalists with a professional insight. Leonard Nica (Product Manager) explained the benefits of the diesel engine and the performance of the K9K engine to each group of journalists.
